Compassionate,
Christian ministry is at the heart of Lutheran Homes Society's
mission to care for the various needs of its residents. Our
full-time staff chaplain seeks to support residents and staff
in their faith life, to minister to individual spiritual needs
in a manner that is respectful of their religious tradition,
to provide pastoral care in times of crisis, and to provide
regular opportunities for worship and spiritual growth.
Chaplaincy
services include Sunday worship services in our Chapel, weekly
Bible study, daily devotionals, weekly worship services for
residents with dementia at the Special Care Unit, Memorial
services and other special worship services. Monthly Catholic
Mass and weekly Catholic Communion services are also provided.
The Chaplain provides pastoral visits with residents in their
rooms and during times of hospitalization, and is available
for pastoral counseling to residents, family members, and
staff. Faith Chapel is open at all time for use by residents,
family members, and staff for prayer and meditation.
The
Chaplain seeks to support residents in their affiliation with
their home congregation and to facilitate pastoral relation
between area clergy and their members who are under our care.
Area congregations are welcome to use Faith Chapel in providing
special services to their resident members.
