Skilled Nursing Care

The skilled nursing facility is licensed for a 155-beds by the Iowa State Department of Inspection & Appeals. It is unique in that the majority of its rooms are private.

As a licensed nursing facility, Lutheran Homes is staffed with trained professionals for 24-hour-a-day nursing care. It provides care for those seniors who can no longer live independently or who have unique health needs.

A dedicated unit within the facility provides a home for those residents who are chronically confused or are in advanced stages of dementia.

Services provided in skilled nursing include:

	24-hour professional nursing staff and certified nursing assistants
	Private/semi-private room
	Three meals per day (special diet if needed)
	Housekeeping
	Laundry-personal items and bed linens, which are provided
	Personal care, including bathing, grooming, shampooing and dressing
	Scheduled Doctor visits
	Medications administered by professional staff
	Rehabilitative services
	Interdisciplinary care plans
	Planned social events of daily activities
	Religious services and Bible study
	Transportation via van or bus
