Special
Care Unit
The
Special Care Unit was designed to serve the unique needs of
people with Alzheimer's Disease or other memory impairments.
The unit features 15 private rooms, 2 semi-private rooms,
a beauty shop, laundry, and dining room.
Our
focus is to help adults with memory loss remain as independent
as possible within a safe, structured environment. The low
stimulus environment reduces frustration and promotes a sense
of security and well being.
Our
specially trained staff attends to the physical, psychological,
social and spiritual needs of the residents. We strive to
promote dignity and the best quality of life possible.
The
Special Care Unit provides a warm, comfortable atmosphere
with home-like settings. A "Memory Box" outside
each room helps residents identify their room by displaying
photographs of loved ones and other personal items. Beautifully-furnished
common areas beckon residents and their visitors to chat.
